She is the fourth monarch of the Windsor dynasty. November 20, 1947 Elizabeth married Philip Mountbatten, a former Greek-Danish prince who in 1947 acquired British nationality. They are distant relatives. Both are descendants of Queen Victoria (their grandmother). Philip is a grandson of Queen Victoria’s daughter, Princess Alice, and Elizabeth is a granddaughter of Alice’s brother, King Edward VII. In 2012 she celebrated her Diamond Jubilee as queen.
